What is used to transfer music to an Ipod?

To transfer music to an ipod you usually use Apple’s Itunes software. Itunes stores a music library on the users computer and can play, burn , and rip music from a CD. Itunes can also be used to upload photos, videos, games and calendars. You connect the ipod to the computer with the cable provided. The relevant software, detects the ipod so the user can drag and drop music from the computer on to the ipod. Within a few clicks in Itunes you can turn the ipod from a mere audio device to a fully functional hard drive storage device, so the user can store any document. Because of its user friendly nature, the ipod can be used by people of all generations.
What else can an ipod be used for?

what is an Ipod?

An ipod is basically a portable media player created and sold by Apple. It first came out in October 2001. 'An ipod is able to store, organize as well as play most people's entire music collection' (Wilson). Most people think that an ipod is only used to store and listen to music, but it isn't. It can also be used as a calendar, a clock, a device for playing games such as – solitaire, brick, music quiz and parachute. It can be used as a directory, a stop watch and to store pictures and notes. The more recent models can now play videos as well as movies. Another byproduct of the ipod phenomenon is the emergence of pod casts. Pod casts are not exclusive to the ipod as you can access them without the use of an ipod; however, they are designed with the ipod in mind. Pod casts can be created and downloaded by anyone. The user subscribes to the pod cast and when ever a new pod cast is added it automatically uploads on to the ipod when connected it to the computer, via the internet. An example of this could be a weekly sports pod casts, discussing the weekly events in a particular sport and now there is also video pod casts adding a whole new dimension to this phenomenon. The ipod was designed with the mass public in mind, favoring easy to use menus and short cuts over using the technology to its full potential. Due to the fact that the Ipod is user friendly and fashionable, since April 2007 Apple had sold over 100 million ipods world wide.
