STORAGE:
There are two types of storage. Miniature hard drives or flash memory.
Miniature hard drives - can be smaller than 2 inches, and fit up to 80 gigabytes of data - easy to store your music collection and download movies etc.
Flash memory - used for smaller units (ipod nano n shuffle) - holds from1 - 8 GB of data. ADVANTAGE - it is smaller than a miniature hard drive, and so smaller devices can be created using it.

BATTERY:
The ipod battery is the feature that is most complained about by the public.
Battery can not be removed by ipod owners - causes inconvenience
Battery for standard ipods - 700 mah 3.7 volt battery - re-chargeable.
Battery lasts 300-500 recharge cycles.
Battery is made this way purely for the ipod to look better (small, thinker) - instead of using AAA or AA batteries.
If one wishes to get their ipod battery changed, it must be sent back to Apple - $59.
